This website gives information about the municipality of Vianen, a local government in the center of the Netherlands. You can find news, products and services as well as descriptions about the organisation itself and other information relevant for our inhabitants and visitors. For people who cannot read the Dutch language easily, we offer a short guide through our website.

Location
The municipality of Vianen is centrally situated at the crossroads of two main highways, the A2 and A27, and the crossing of water between the river Lek and the Merwede canal. Vianen is centrally located in the Netherlands about 12 km. south of Utrecht.
Next to Vianen, the municipalty consists of the villages Hagestein, Everdingen and Zijderveld. Together they have around 19,700 inhabitants. The location of Vianen is clearly shown in the logo.

Things to see and do
Vianen has around 180 monuments most of which are located in the historic city center. In addition, the original 14e-century cityplan is still almost completely preserved. Discover the history by doing the city walk by yourself or with a guide. You can also come here by boat and stay a few nights at our small harbour for passing tourists just outside the center of Vianen or at the harbour De Peiler near Camping Clementie on the river Lek. Check all there is to explore at the local tourism agency (VVV) via www.vvv-vianen.nl  City walks can be booked there and the helpful staff have many interesting suggestions. Every year the very active and enthousiastic inhabitants organise many events which are nice to visit. 

Accommodation
In and around Vianen there are many options for accommodation. If you are looking for comfort and luxury, try the Hotel Vianen at www.hotelvianen.nl/en If you are more into camping, Recreation Center Everstein just outside Hagestein or Camping Clementie on the shore of the river Lek are good options. Apart from this, there are about 9 bed and breakfasts to choose from. The VVV can help you with their addresses.

If you are here for business you may visit one of the many companies that have made their home here, such as transporters, wholesale and nationally important companies as Miele, manufacturer of domestic appliances.
